Blessed Easter

After being cooped up at home the past couple weeks, with the rare exception for doctor visits, this weekend was Ian's first time out around town. This very special Easter we spent time at church and with family. As we celebrate the most holy of days, we hope your family enjoys the Peace and Love we receive through our risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

Blessings to everyone this Easter!

Rest after a long weekend.

Who's Who?

So we asked you who Ian looks more like, his mom or dad. Perhaps this will help. We thought it would be fun to look back at pictures of Kelli and Matthew when they were Ian's age. Compare and decide for yourself, then choose or update your poll answer.

House Groundbreaking

Thursday and Friday brought excitement around the compound as ground was broken on our new house.

A rendering of our future house

It was a lot of work digging the hole for the basement. Especially since we had only one shovel. Ignore the large machine behind us.

OK, so this actually did the digging. You think Kelli would trust Matthew with a shovel?

Ian is 1 (week)!

Wow, where did the time go. It just felt like yesterday he was born. Here's a short retrospect on Ian's first week of life with us.

After passing the parenting test we were free to take Ian home. This is a picture of the new family right before we left. Matthew was pleased to finally pass the test after the third try. Four and Ian would have been eligible to select a new dad.

Between Kelli and Matthews' families, there have been plenty of arms to hold little Ian. Here is Grandma Leighty, enjoying her turn.

Here Ian is getting over his first bath at home. Nothing smells better than a clean baby.

We had fun getting him acclimated to the Boppy swing and pacafier. Let's just say, he could take it or leave it.

Behind the Scenes

We thought it would be fun to go back and give you a closer behind the scenes look, shortly after Ian's birth. He may look cute now, but in this video you see he wasn't always that way.

A first look at the happy dad smiling for the camera.

A beautiful mom with her handsome son. What a sight.

Kissing Cousins

When Ian's cousin Hannah visited us in the hospital, we had fun taking pictures of the two of them. Here's a closer look.

Ian, Welcome to Our World

Family and friends came out Friday and Saturday to see the new little Leighty. The doctors have given Ian a clean bill of health. He has indicated great attentiveness, when he's not sleeping. Mom is recovering nicely. We have been so blessed with all your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Here's pictures of some of the people that visited us at the hospital.
