Ian hits the road

Wow, what a week. We took Ian on his first road trip. First Indianapolis and then the Chicago area.

Saturday, we took in a beautiful wedding, for Kelli's cousin, while in Indianapolis. It was a great time with family.

We spent a couple days in the Chicago area. During the day, Kelli and Ian were able to see friends from church and school, while Matthew was traveling the area for work. Kelli didn't have time to see everyone she wanted to, but they really enjoyed the opportunities they did have.

Sunday, Ian made a new friend, Lauren, at our first stop in Illinois to visit friends from college. They have a two year old and expecting another in October.

Ian's first trip to a restaurant. First of many he would end up making within a week.

Tuesday, Ian hung out with Norah and Simon. Their parents are friends we made at church. They had a girl only a couple weeks after we had Ian.

Simon shares his baseball and glove. Daddy is already looking forward to taking Ian to his first Cubs game.

Ian goes to school

Mom took Ian to school yesterday to introduce him to all her second grade students. While she was there they had a surprise baby shower with cupcakes, juice, and decorations.

According to this picture. Ian may not be ready for school quite yet.

Here, the other second grade teacher takes a turn in holding Ian.

in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. ...

This Saturday, Ian was welcomed into the Lord's kingdom through Holy Baptism. Ian's Godparents are James and Nancy DeFrain. The officiant was Ian's grandfather, Rev. Fred Leighty. Following worship, everyone gathered to celebrate at Luther Hall, on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary. It was such a blessing to share this occasion with family and friends.

The video shares pictures along with audio of the baptism and a song that was played.

Tax Day!

So are your taxes done? Perhaps you are online right now because you are filing an extension. And perhaps you thought you could procrastinate even more by stopping off for a visit on our blog. We hope you enjoy some of our latest pictures of Ian. These days he seems to be growing like the U.S. national debt. We hope this tax holiday finds you full of peace, joy, and large deductions.
