Ian at the lake

Around Fort Wayne it's not uncommon for a person to say, "We're going up to the lake." They never say which one, there are a lot in northern Indiana, and you never really ask. That's the way it is.

Kelli's family has had a cottage they have enjoyed many summers at. They don't make it up there as much as they used to. But it's always nice to spend time there and reflect back when she and her siblings were little and raced around the lake going tubing or hanging out with cousins. So this past week Ian got his first experience at the lake and new memories for another generation.

Heidi from Arkansas

Kelli's best friend from college, Heidi, visited Wednesday to Sunday. What a blast! She is so much fun. We always look forward to her visits (especially her witty math jokes). Highlights of her time here included strawberry picking and making home made jam, watching movies, shopping, and going to Clear Lake.

This was Heidi's first opportunity to see Ian. She enjoyed holding him and going on walks. Changing his diapers, not so much, but maybe next time.
Sunday, friends from college who live near Chicago visited. It's a crazy time when they get together.

House Update

The house continues to progress. Since our last update we have seen the sidewalk and driveway installed, so we can get to the door with less mud on our shoes. The dry wall has also been put up, so now the rooms feel smaller. Needless to say, we are pleased. It sounds like the house will be completed mid to late July. If anyone is interested in making their way here to help us move, we'll keep you posted on the exact date.

Happy First Father's Day!

It was an exciting weekend as we celebrated Matthew's first Father's Day with Ian. We went out to eat with Matthew's family and topped off the day with Kelli's family and ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.

Sunday evening brought a neat highlight. Following the rain we enjoyed seeing a full rainbow. Matthew began venturing out to find the treasure. Fortunatly, Kelli caught him and reminded him of the true meaning of the rainbow (see Genesis 9:13).

Family Get-Together

It was a family weekend as many of the out-of-towners were in Fort Wayne to celebrate a wedding for Kelli's cousin. Friday many gathered at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo to take in the sights. Kelli captured this picture of a peacock with it's full train.

Saturday everyone was dressed up and smiling for the camera. What a beautiful wedding and a nice time with family.
